And if they behold a portent they turn away and say: Prolonged illusion.
54:2 · Al-Qamar · juz 27 · page 528 · tafsir at quran.com
They denied (the Truth) and followed their own lusts. Yet everything will come to a decision
54:3 · Al-Qamar · juz 27 · page 528 · tafsir at quran.com
And surely there hath come unto them news whereof the purport should deter,
54:4 · Al-Qamar · juz 27 · page 528 · tafsir at quran.com
Effective wisdom; but warnings avail not.
54:5 · Al-Qamar · juz 27 · page 528 · tafsir at quran.com
So withdraw from them (O Muhammad) on the day when the Summoner summoneth unto a painful thing.
54:6 · Al-Qamar · juz 27 · page 528 · tafsir at quran.com
With downcast eyes, they come forth from the graves as they were locusts spread abroad,
54:7 · Al-Qamar · juz 27 · page 529 · tafsir at quran.com
Hastening toward the summoner; the disbelievers say: This is a hard day.
54:8 · Al-Qamar · juz 27 · page 529 · tafsir at quran.com

54:10 · Al-Qamar · juz 27 · page 529 · tafsir at quran.com
Then opened We the gates of heaven with pouring water
54:11 · Al-Qamar · juz 27 · page 529 · tafsir at quran.com
And caused the earth to gush forth springs, so that the waters met for a predestined purpose.
54:12 · Al-Qamar · juz 27 · page 529 · tafsir at quran.com
And We carried him upon a thing of planks and nails,
54:13 · Al-Qamar · juz 27 · page 529 · tafsir at quran.com
That ran (upon the waters) in Our sight, as a reward for him who was rejected.
54:14 · Al-Qamar · juz 27 · page 529 · tafsir at quran.com
And verily We left it as a token; but is there any that remembereth?
54:15 · Al-Qamar · juz 27 · page 529 · tafsir at quran.com
Then see how (dreadful) was My punishment after My warnings!
54:16 · Al-Qamar · juz 27 · page 529 · tafsir at quran.com
And in truth We have made the Qur'an easy to remember; but is there any that remembereth?

(The tribe of) A'ad rejected warnings. Then how (dreadful) was My punishment after My warnings.

Lo! We let loose on them a raging wind on a day of constant calamity,
54:19 · Al-Qamar · juz 27 · page 529 · tafsir at quran.com
Sweeping men away as though they were uprooted trunks of palm-trees.
54:20 · Al-Qamar · juz 27 · page 529 · tafsir at quran.com
Then see how (dreadful) was My punishment after My warnings!
54:21 · Al-Qamar · juz 27 · page 529 · tafsir at quran.com
And in truth We have made the Qur'an easy to remember; but is there any that remembereth?
54:22 · Al-Qamar · juz 27 · page 529 · tafsir at quran.com
(The tribe of) Thamud rejected warnings
54:23 · Al-Qamar · juz 27 · page 529 · tafsir at quran.com
For they said; Is it a mortal man, alone among us, that we are to follow? Then indeed we should fall into error and madness.
54:24 · Al-Qamar · juz 27 · page 529 · tafsir at quran.com
Hath the remembrance been given unto him alone among us? Nay, but he is a rash liar.
54:25 · Al-Qamar · juz 27 · page 529 · tafsir at quran.com
(Unto their warner it was said): To-morrow they will know who is the rash liar.

But they call their comrade and he took and hamstrung (her).
54:29 · Al-Qamar · juz 27 · page 530 · tafsir at quran.com
Then see how (dreadful) was My punishment after My warnings!
54:30 · Al-Qamar · juz 27 · page 530 · tafsir at quran.com
Lo! We sent upon them one Shout, and they became as the dry twigs (rejected by) the builder of a cattle-fold.
54:31 · Al-Qamar · juz 27 · page 530 · tafsir at quran.com
And in truth We have made the Qur'an easy to remember; but is there any that remembereth?
54:32 · Al-Qamar · juz 27 · page 530 · tafsir at quran.com
The folk of Lot rejected warnings.
54:33 · Al-Qamar · juz 27 · page 530 · tafsir at quran.com
Lo! We sent a storm of stones upon them (all) save the family of Lot, whom We rescued in the last watch of the night,
54:34 · Al-Qamar · juz 27 · page 530 · tafsir at quran.com
As grace from Us. Thus We reward him who giveth thanks.

54:37 · Al-Qamar · juz 27 · page 530 · tafsir at quran.com
And in truth the punishment decreed befell them early in the morning.
54:38 · Al-Qamar · juz 27 · page 530 · tafsir at quran.com
Now taste My punishment after My warnings!
54:39 · Al-Qamar · juz 27 · page 530 · tafsir at quran.com
And in truth We have made the Qur'an easy to remember; but is there any that remembereth?
54:40 · Al-Qamar · juz 27 · page 530 · tafsir at quran.com
And warnings came in truth unto the house of Pharaoh
54:41 · Al-Qamar · juz 27 · page 530 · tafsir at quran.com
Who denied Our revelations, every one. Therefore We grasped them with the grasp of the Mighty, the Powerful.
54:42 · Al-Qamar · juz 27 · page 530 · tafsir at quran.com
Are your disbelievers better than those, or have ye some immunity in the scriptures?
54:43 · Al-Qamar · juz 27 · page 530 · tafsir at quran.com
Or say they: We are a host victorious?
54:44 · Al-Qamar · juz 27 · page 530 · tafsir at quran.com

Lo! the guilty are in error and madness.
54:47 · Al-Qamar · juz 27 · page 530 · tafsir at quran.com
On the day when they are dragged into the Fire upon their faces (it is said unto them): Feel the touch of hell.

54:51 · Al-Qamar · juz 27 · page 531 · tafsir at quran.com
And every thing they did is in the scriptures,
54:52 · Al-Qamar · juz 27 · page 531 · tafsir at quran.com
And every small and great thing is recorded.

Lo! the righteous will dwell among gardens and rivers,
54:54 · Al-Qamar · juz 27 · page 531 · tafsir at quran.com
