Al-Mursalaat سُورَةُ المُرۡسَلَاتِ

وَٱلْمُرْسَلَٰتِ عُرْفًۭا ﴿1﴾

By the emissary winds, (sent) one after another

فَٱلْعَٰصِفَٰتِ عَصْفًۭا ﴿2﴾

By the raging hurricanes,

77:2 · Al-Mursalaat · juz 29 · page 580 · tafsir at quran.com

وَٱلنَّٰشِرَٰتِ نَشْرًۭا ﴿3﴾

By those which cause earth's vegetation to revive;

77:3 · Al-Mursalaat · juz 29 · page 580 · tafsir at quran.com

فَٱلْفَٰرِقَٰتِ فَرْقًۭا ﴿4﴾

By those who winnow with a winnowing,

77:4 · Al-Mursalaat · juz 29 · page 580 · tafsir at quran.com

فَٱلْمُلْقِيَٰتِ ذِكْرًا ﴿5﴾

By those who bring down the Reminder,

77:5 · Al-Mursalaat · juz 29 · page 580 · tafsir at quran.com

عُذْرًا أَوْ نُذْرًا ﴿6﴾

To excuse or to warn,

77:6 · Al-Mursalaat · juz 29 · page 580 · tafsir at quran.com

إِنَّمَا تُوعَدُونَ لَوَٰقِعٌۭ ﴿7﴾

Surely that which ye are promised will befall.

77:7 · Al-Mursalaat · juz 29 · page 580 · tafsir at quran.com

فَإِذَا ٱلنُّجُومُ طُمِسَتْ ﴿8﴾

So when the stars are put out,

77:8 · Al-Mursalaat · juz 29 · page 580 · tafsir at quran.com

وَإِذَا ٱلسَّمَآءُ فُرِجَتْ ﴿9﴾

And when the sky is riven asunder,

وَإِذَا ٱلْجِبَالُ نُسِفَتْ ﴿10﴾

And when the mountains are blown away,

77:10 · Al-Mursalaat · juz 29 · page 580 · tafsir at quran.com

وَإِذَا ٱلرُّسُلُ أُقِّتَتْ ﴿11﴾

And when the messengers are brought unto their time appointed -

77:11 · Al-Mursalaat · juz 29 · page 580 · tafsir at quran.com

لِأَىِّ يَوْمٍ أُجِّلَتْ ﴿12﴾

For what day is the time appointed?

77:12 · Al-Mursalaat · juz 29 · page 580 · tafsir at quran.com

لِيَوْمِ ٱلْفَصْلِ ﴿13﴾

For the Day of Decision.

77:13 · Al-Mursalaat · juz 29 · page 580 · tafsir at quran.com

وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا يَوْمُ ٱلْفَصْلِ ﴿14﴾

And what will convey unto thee what the Day of Decision is! -

وَيْلٌۭ يَوْمَئِذٍۢ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ ﴿15﴾

Woe unto the repudiators on that day!

77:15 · Al-Mursalaat · juz 29 · page 580 · tafsir at quran.com

أَلَمْ نُهْلِكِ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ ﴿16﴾

Destroyed We not the former folk,

77:16 · Al-Mursalaat · juz 29 · page 580 · tafsir at quran.com

ثُمَّ نُتْبِعُهُمُ ٱلْءَاخِرِينَ ﴿17﴾

Then caused the latter folk to follow after?

77:17 · Al-Mursalaat · juz 29 · page 580 · tafsir at quran.com

كَذَٰلِكَ نَفْعَلُ بِٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ ﴿18﴾

Thus deal We ever with the guilty.

77:18 · Al-Mursalaat · juz 29 · page 580 · tafsir at quran.com

وَيْلٌۭ يَوْمَئِذٍۢ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ ﴿19﴾

Woe unto the repudiators on that day!

77:19 · Al-Mursalaat · juz 29 · page 580 · tafsir at quran.com

أَلَمْ نَخْلُقكُّم مِّن مَّآءٍۢ مَّهِينٍۢ ﴿20﴾

Did We not create you from a base fluid

77:20 · Al-Mursalaat · juz 29 · page 581 · tafsir at quran.com

فَجَعَلْنَٰهُ فِى قَرَارٍۢ مَّكِينٍ ﴿21﴾

Which We laid up in a safe abode

77:21 · Al-Mursalaat · juz 29 · page 581 · tafsir at quran.com

إِلَىٰ قَدَرٍۢ مَّعْلُومٍۢ ﴿22﴾

For a known term?

77:22 · Al-Mursalaat · juz 29 · page 581 · tafsir at quran.com

فَقَدَرْنَا فَنِعْمَ ٱلْقَٰدِرُونَ ﴿23﴾

Thus We arranged. How excellent is Our arranging!

77:23 · Al-Mursalaat · juz 29 · page 581 · tafsir at quran.com

وَيْلٌۭ يَوْمَئِذٍۢ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ ﴿24﴾

Woe unto the repudiators on that day!

77:24 · Al-Mursalaat · juz 29 · page 581 · tafsir at quran.com

أَلَمْ نَجْعَلِ ٱلْأَرْضَ كِفَاتًا ﴿25﴾

Have We not made the earth a receptacle

77:25 · Al-Mursalaat · juz 29 · page 581 · tafsir at quran.com

أَحْيَآءًۭ وَأَمْوَٰتًۭا ﴿26﴾

Both for the living and the dead,

77:26 · Al-Mursalaat · juz 29 · page 581 · tafsir at quran.com

وَجَعَلْنَا فِيهَا رَوَٰسِىَ شَٰمِخَٰتٍۢ وَأَسْقَيْنَٰكُم مَّآءًۭ فُرَاتًۭا ﴿27﴾

And placed therein high mountains and given you to drink sweet water therein?

وَيْلٌۭ يَوْمَئِذٍۢ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ ﴿28﴾

Woe unto the repudiators on that day!

77:28 · Al-Mursalaat · juz 29 · page 581 · tafsir at quran.com

ٱنطَلِقُوٓا۟ إِلَىٰ مَا كُنتُم بِهِۦ تُكَذِّبُونَ ﴿29﴾

(It will be said unto them:) Depart unto that (doom) which ye used to deny;

ٱنطَلِقُوٓا۟ إِلَىٰ ظِلٍّۢ ذِى ثَلَٰثِ شُعَبٍۢ ﴿30﴾

Depart unto the shadow falling threefold,

لَّا ظَلِيلٍۢ وَلَا يُغْنِى مِنَ ٱللَّهَبِ ﴿31﴾

(Which yet is) no relief nor shelter from the flame.

إِنَّهَا تَرْمِى بِشَرَرٍۢ كَٱلْقَصْرِ ﴿32﴾

Lo! it throweth up sparks like the castles,

كَأَنَّهُۥ جِمَٰلَتٌۭ صُفْرٌۭ ﴿33﴾

(Or) as it might be camels of bright yellow hue.

وَيْلٌۭ يَوْمَئِذٍۢ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ ﴿34﴾

Woe unto the repudiators on that day!

هَٰذَا يَوْمُ لَا يَنطِقُونَ ﴿35﴾

This is a day wherein they speak not,

وَلَا يُؤْذَنُ لَهُمْ فَيَعْتَذِرُونَ ﴿36﴾

Nor are they suffered to put forth excuses.

وَيْلٌۭ يَوْمَئِذٍۢ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ ﴿37﴾

Woe unto the repudiators on that day!

77:37 · Al-Mursalaat · juz 29 · page 581 · tafsir at quran.com

هَٰذَا يَوْمُ ٱلْفَصْلِ ۖ جَمَعْنَٰكُمْ وَٱلْأَوَّلِينَ ﴿38﴾

This is the Day of Decision, We have brought you and the men of old together.

فَإِن كَانَ لَكُمْ كَيْدٌۭ فَكِيدُونِ ﴿39﴾

If now ye have any wit, outwit Me.

77:39 · Al-Mursalaat · juz 29 · page 581 · tafsir at quran.com

وَيْلٌۭ يَوْمَئِذٍۢ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ ﴿40﴾

Woe unto the repudiators on that day!

إِنَّ ٱلْمُتَّقِينَ فِى ظِلَٰلٍۢ وَعُيُونٍۢ ﴿41﴾

Lo! those who kept their duty are amid shade and fountains,

وَفَوَٰكِهَ مِمَّا يَشْتَهُونَ ﴿42﴾

And fruits such as they desire.

77:42 · Al-Mursalaat · juz 29 · page 581 · tafsir at quran.com

كُلُوا۟ وَٱشْرَبُوا۟ هَنِيٓـًٔۢا بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ ﴿43﴾

(Unto them it is said:) Eat, drink and welcome, O ye blessed, in return for what ye did.

إِنَّا كَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِى ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ ﴿44﴾

Thus do We reward the good.

وَيْلٌۭ يَوْمَئِذٍۢ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ ﴿45﴾

Woe unto the repudiators on that day!

77:45 · Al-Mursalaat · juz 29 · page 581 · tafsir at quran.com

كُلُوا۟ وَتَمَتَّعُوا۟ قَلِيلًا إِنَّكُم مُّجْرِمُونَ ﴿46﴾

Eat and take your ease (on earth) a little. Lo! ye are guilty.

وَيْلٌۭ يَوْمَئِذٍۢ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ ﴿47﴾

Woe unto the repudiators on that day!

77:47 · Al-Mursalaat · juz 29 · page 581 · tafsir at quran.com

وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمُ ٱرْكَعُوا۟ لَا يَرْكَعُونَ ﴿48﴾

When it is said unto them: Bow down, they bow not down!

وَيْلٌۭ يَوْمَئِذٍۢ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ ﴿49﴾

Woe unto the repudiators on that day!

فَبِأَىِّ حَدِيثٍۭ بَعْدَهُۥ يُؤْمِنُونَ ﴿50﴾

In what statement, after this, will they believe?
